Queen Anne Mahogany Candle Stand, Ca. 1780

This is a wonderful probably New England Queen Anne tilt top candlestand made from incredibly dense and heavy Cuban or Santo Domingan mahogany. The feet have a ridged crest and shoe foot like the finest New England stands. There is some patching to the pedestal from an old split which was repaired. The vase formed pedestal is very well proportioned. Latch is old.
